Call for participants- MIT Energy Conference & CEA Annual Meeting

こんばんは、代表の吉田です。

現在g-Enesisは、MIT Energy Conferenceへの参加者を募集中です。
当会議は来年の3月5、6日に開催され、米国を中心に世界中からエネルギー関連の政治家、ビジネスマン、研究者、学生がボストンのMIT（マサチューセッツ工科大学）に集結します。派遣に伴う費用については、東京大学AGSの方から補助が出ることになっているため、大学全体から広く参加者を集めているところです。

私は昨年のMIT Energy Conferenceに参加したのですが、米国で進むエネルギー革命の最前線を体感すると共に、世界中の大学から集まった多くの学生と知り合うことが出来ました。彼らの多くは、エネルギー関連の仕事を経験した後に大学に来ているため、日本の大学院生とは知識の量も意識の高さも違い、私自身大きく刺激を受けました。彼らとは未だに連絡を取っており、現在は一緒に研究プロジェクトを行っています。

「一生の思い出に残る良い経験が出来ること間違いなし！」の貴重な機会ですので、是非応募を検討してみてください。

┃開催概要

2010年3月5、6日に、米国ボストンでMIT Energy Conference*とCEA Annual Meeting**が開催されます。

これらの国際会議に、東京大学エネルギークラブ（g-Enesis）から数名の学生を派遣する予定です。
今回の派遣の目的は、以下の二点になります。
(1）世界最先端のエネルギービジネス・技術動向の把握
(2）世界各国の学生エネルギークラブの活動状況の把握

それぞれの会議の内容、及びそこで得られる経験等については、
AGS NEWSVol.15に関連記事がありますので、そちらをご参照下さい。

なお、派遣に際しての渡航費・滞在費は、AGSが補助します。
(ただし、数万円の自己負担があります。）

*エネルギー分野における課題解決を推進するための会議で、毎年開催されています。
会議には、著名な政治家、企業、ベンチャー企業、ベンチャーキャピタル等が集まり、
将来のエネルギー利用のあるべき姿について議論をします。

○エネルギー問題に強い関心を持っていること
○2011年3月までg-Enesisの運営に携われること
(来年も東京大学に在学予定の学生を優遇します）
○会議当日までの事前勉強会、及び参加後の事後報告会に参加できること
○（留学生の場合）VISA取得の見通しがあること

特にg-Enesisの運営については、派遣の決定以降主要メンバーとして活動に参加して頂きます。
勉強会・各種プロジェクトの主催、ブログ・メーリングリストの管理等の業務があるため、
そのための時間を確保できる方の応募を特にお待ちしています。

leaders of the student energy clubs from all over the world?

MIT Energy Conference* and CEA Annual Meeting** in Boston, U.S. will
be held in March 5th and 6th in 2010.

University of Tokyo Energy Club (g-Enesis) will choose a few
participants of these international conferences.
The purposes are:
(1）To research the frontier of energy business and technology of the world.
(2）To communicate with the student energy club of the world.

The content of the last conference is reported.

Part of the expense for travel and accommodation will be supported by AGS.
(Several thousands yen should be paid by yourselves.）

*Annual conference in the U.S that aims for leading the recent
challenges of energy problems. Distinguished politicians, executives
of companies, venture capitalists, etc. are gathered and discuss the
energy usage of the world for the future.

**Annual meeting of the student energy clubs that is held on the day
before the MIT Energy Conference. Students of the energy clubs from
all over the world present their activities in the year, and discuss
the management of the club.

┃Requirements
┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
○Strong interest and commitment in energy problems
○To be the committee member of our energy club (g-Enesis) by March, 2011.
(Students who attend the University of Tokyo for the next year are preferred.）
○To attend the study meetings before participating in the conference.
Also, you are supposed to make some presentation to report the
conference in the debriefing session of g-Enesis.
○If you are the international student, you have to obtain a VISA
before the conference.

When you are chosen to participate in MIT energy conference, you are
supposed to be the committee member of g-Enesis. Committee members
have to set the study sessions, projects, submit articles to our blog,
etc in g-Enesis. Therefore, we welcome the candidates who have strong
motivation and can spare time to participate in these activities.
